When I first spoke with Amelia's mom in the Summer, she knew right away that Fall was the ideal time for her daughter's senior photos. And booking early meant that she had the best selection of dates during the month with peak Fall color in the Columbus area. We settled on mid-October, which is one of the most beautiful times of year for senior pictures.
Senior pictures in the park with Fall color can't be beat! Denim and a sweater are a great choice for a Fall wardrobe for senior photos. The jeans give a ton of flexibility with posing from seated to standing poses, and pockets are always a plus! Boots complete any Fall outfit just right. I love how the color of her hair plays so well against the colors in the background here.
I mean the gold, yellow, and green tones in the background are AHHH-MAZING here! I also love the way the wood walkway creates lines with her in the center. Amelia was so easy to photograph with such a great smile and a positive and upbeat personality.
Westerville South Letter Jacket
If you have been following for any length of time, you probably already know that I always want to add letter jackets to senior pictures if someone has one. In her case, Amelia had a varsity letter jacket for Westerville South High School so I had her wear it here in front of the red trees to bring out her school colors. Just love how all of these turned out!!
We always aim for a few outfit changes per location during sessions, so after these she went to this beautiful dark maroon dress. I make sure we always have a way to change on the go (no awkward car changes here!!).
Isn't she just the cutest in this dress!? I loved it! the color and style was perfect for senior photos in the Fall.
The perfect splash photo above! The creek water was cool on this nice Fall day but worth it for a few fun photos! The creek is a unique spot, and I always love to find little places like that to have some fun!
Fall Senior Pictures Downtown Columbus
We next headed downtown to the Scioto Mile area for some views of the city scape in her senior pictures. She kept that awesome dress on for a bit longer which allowed us to get variety of photos in this same outfit. I have a lot of seniors do this - wear a favorite outfit at both places. End one location in that outfit, and then start the next one in it. Check out this setting! The perfect model, too!
Just because we were downtown in the midst of hardscapes doesn't mean we can't find a good Fall vibe! the yellow leaves on these trees complimented the color of her dress perfectly. I like that the railing gave us some extra posing options, too. I always have a handful of posing suggestions ready so we can walk away with variety from each session.
Columbus Senior Pictures in Scrubs
Since Amelia is already attending school for nursing, we knew from the beginning that we were going to want to do some of her senior pictures wearing her scrubs. We thought the downtown buildings made for a great backdrop as there is a high likeliness that at some point in her training or career that she would end up working in a hospital in a downtown area.
Senior Photos
One more outfit change which ended up being one of my favorite. This blue was PERFECT on her! I don't even have to tell you - you can see for yourself below.
Obviously when I saw these red & orange trees I knew we needed to use them as a backdrop against her dark blue jumpsuit. How amazing does she look in this setting?! Such a great Fall photo and a great urban vibe with her outfit. Love everything about it!
We then headed up to get final views of downtown as the sunset and blue hour began. We lucked out and they turned on the downtown lights as we were finishing up so we had to grab one last shot.
Amelia was a true joy to photograph. Her personality was so warm and fun, and she had me laughing quite a bit. She is obviously very smart and driven and I know she is going to be amazing nurse one day soon! Until then, I hope you make some great memories as you wrap up senior year!!
